ABOUT MATT

I didn’t come into brand through textbooks, theory or marketing departments.

I came through design.

I have a design degree, 25+ years in the industry, and I’ve designed some of the biggest tradeshow booths, exhibitions, activations and brand environments in the world.

But the real education came on the floor.

Exhibition halls. Event sites. Launches. Activations.
Back-of-house chaos.
3am installs.
Opening mornings where everything either works or it doesn’t.

That changes how you see brand.

You learn quickly that brand is not what is written in the strategy deck.

It is what happens when the doors open.

The team. The message. The space. The energy. The conversation.
The feeling people leave with.

That is where brand becomes real.

For more than 25 years, I’ve helped brands show up in the real world across more than 20 countries, working with global brands, government organisations and high-pressure event teams.

I’ve also lived the harder side of business.

I’ve built.
I’ve lost.
I’ve been wiped out.
I’ve had to rebuild from almost nothing.

So I am not interested in surface-level brand work.

Not pretty for the sake of pretty.
Not noise for the sake of attention.
Not events, campaigns or content that look impressive but fail to create impact.
